My pet care qualifications
I’m a lifelong pet owner, so I know how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your animals when you need a helping hand.
As soon as I made the decision to leave my career in policing and work with animals full-time, I started looking into the qualifications available to help me give you peace of mind.
And as it happens, the wonderful Reaseheath College is just down the road from me – so off I went to enrol.
Canine Health & First Aid
Okay so this one wasn’t actually from Reaseheath (scroll down for those) – but completing this Canine Health & First Aid course really helped me understand conditions I haven’t experienced in my own dogs (because we only really think about doggy illnesses if our own dog has one, right?)
The course was delivered by the amazing Dr Sophie Bell. She’s worked as a vet for over 15 years and specialises in emergency and critical care. I’ve attended a series of her dog walking webinars too.
As part of the course, I learned about life saving dog first aid techniques, how to spot dog illnesses and the preventative measures we can take as dog owners to ensure our dogs lead happy & healthy lives.
I found out more about dog communication, signs of pain, clinical examination, dog CPR, wounds & bandaging, trauma/shock, kennel cough – and so much more. I also learned more about things like eye bathing, nail cutting and collecting urine samples (nice!)
So if you’re looking for a reliable dog walker with basic health & first aid training, you’re in the right place. Contact me today and let’s book your first session.
“Sarah is so kind and gentle. She’s happy to help whenever we need Dylan walking, and is always caring with him. Thank you, Sarah.”

Cat health, wellbeing and first aid
Another offering from the fabulous Dr Sophie Bell, this Feline Health, Wellbeing & First Aid course really was so comprehensive. I learnt about everything from body language and handling sick or injured cats, to bandaging and wound management, and how to spot common conditions.

Equine Health & First Aid
I’ve been riding since I was a kid, so I know all the standard stuff. But this Equine Health & First Aid course helped me to deepen my understanding of equine health and first aid practices. We covered:
Equine health and equine diseases
Basic aid applications
First aid principles
Types of injuries
When to call the vet and what to do until the vet arrives
What to do in an emergency
What equipment to have in the vet cabinet
I’m not claiming to have qualified as a vet or anything, but I know it’s not easy admitting you could use a little help caring for your horse or pony – and it’s even harder finding someone you can trust to do the job.
So I hope reading that list helps put your mind at rest. Now go on – click on the button below and let’s see if we can make life run a bit more smoothly for you.
“I have always had to rely on family members to help when I go on holiday or have social plans but finding Sarah has been a godsend! Sarah has listened to all the little quirks about the horses and the routine they have and looks after them exactly like I do so there is no stress for me or the horses when I am not there.”
